S2E1 - Introduction to Season 2 of the Hallway

A little surprise for Season 2!

Hi, everybody. Welcome to the hallway. It is 2025 and we are excited to be here for season two. And I say we because I have a fun. new thing that we are doing for season two. And that is that I am joined by two dear women whom you already know, Aline and Ashley.

Hi, it's Aline. Um, I'm very excited to have, uh, the opportunity to do this podcast with Ashley and Beryllyn this year. wow. Some really cool things are going to come out of this. I just know it.

And it's Ashley coming to you from Nashville, Tennessee, where it is sunny and snowing, um, the world shuts down in Nashville when it snows. So it's quiet here. And it's so good to be, um, looking at the faces of these 2 amazing women. So I'm excited about what we have in store, uh, in this upcoming season.

it took a while to figure out how three women who work both inside and outside the home in three very different time zones, All got together, but we're going to do it. We're going to do it for season two.

So we are, um, on technology and grateful for it. I am a little upset that it is snow on the ground in Nashville, Tennessee, and I am in St. Andrews, Scotland, and there is no snow on the ground. I just want snow. The second year we were here, we had the most gorgeous snow for a whole week. And I have not had any sense.

So we are here, we are in three different time zones, but we are all excited to be together. And what I did for this season, as the two ladies know is. I loved being with Aline and as you all know, Aline had to leave Scotland middle of season one and go back to California. And so one of the episodes we're going to have is just an update on Aline because I've gotten a lot of really lovely emails where people have been like, how's Aline? How's her family doing? What's going on? Is she alive? So she is alive.

And we're going to do, Ashley and I are going to spend some time just checking in on Aline and asking her some questions and just giving her a chance to talk about what it's like to do a podcast in the, about the hallway while getting thrust into maybe the biggest hallway ever,

three. Um, but the other thing we're going to do, so it's going to be the three of us this season. We're going to try and see if you all will enjoy the three of us all together, which I'm really excited about. I think you all are really going to like it. And we're also going to release two a month instead of three a month based on the aforementioned. Three different parts of the world all coming together in time zones. So you'll get two episodes from us a month, all three of us together. And what we're going to focus on, this is just going to be our little introductory episode, like we did the first time, like we did for season one. And then the first episode, like the second episode, sorry, is going to be about like looking back on 2024 and just kind of us talking about as hallway dwellers, what it was like to experience 2024 and what we really like just. loved and cherished and we're so grateful about. And then some things that we're grateful to leave in 2024 and then 20, we're going to talk about 2025 and how we now is kind of, sorry, y'all, this may not be the best thing to say, but as more mature women, um, I may or may not own a Moomoo at this point. Um, um,

What it's been like and what you've been learning and what you aren't learning and what you're like I just threw up my hands or whatever it is for you

to, we're going to talk a little this season. The couple of things we've thrown around are talking a little bit about embodiment, which is I think a term that people use, but everybody doesn't always know what it means. So talking about like, what does it mean to have like an embodied experience of your life while being in the hallway, which I think can be more difficult and talking some about anger. Um, anger is a really important emotion that would be lovely for us to talk about. Um, we're also going to talk about friendships in the hallway and then we're going to move on and maybe do some, we have some other ideas that we're kind of throwing around and we may also do some interviews, but that'll get us a bit to the middle of season two, and then we'll kind of figure out. What else we're going to do for the second part of season two, season two will probably be a little bit longer since we're only doing two a month. Um, so that's kind of what we have for y'all. And we're really excited to just be together and spend this time. We are, I told the ladies earlier, we're at almost 2000 downloads, which I think is pretty awesome. And, um, we keep getting downloads every week. Even now, which I think is crazy because we haven't done anything in a while. So it's resonating with people. I still get emails, um, about episodes, asking about things, asking questions, asking when the next season is coming. That's really kind of people. So we just want to be present with y'all. So if you have things that you're like, I would love to know about this, I am in the hallway. It's new to me, or I'm a seasoned person or I'm a dweller, whatever that is, just send us me an email and say like, I'd love to know about this and we will talk about it and see how we can put it into the episode list.

I was thinking about had asked us what our hopes are for this upcoming season and, you know, we were catching up beforehand and I was realizing like. part of me, I think, is doing this for me, like I need to be in connection with you guys and talk about what your experience is like and what has sustained you in the hallway and what, um, you know, just to mutually be able to struggle out loud together. my, I'm doing it for me because I need it. And I know if I need it, there's a hope that you'll need it too. The people that are listening will need it, and that you'll be able to even take one thing to be able to apply during the week or to step into, um, because life is hard. It's beautiful, but it is hard, we need to know that other people are in it with us, and was just a gift. I wish y'all could have heard the conversation before just such a gift to to have you guys Just be with me and my sadness. So it for me. Hope that you guys benefit from struggling out loud

I mean, can I just say ditto? No, I won't say ditto. I think that's just beautiful. And it made, it honestly made me tear up because I think that. In this time that three women from spanning the globe sort of half the globe, I'll say, um, can come together and, and to put some things into words, um, that can land whoever wants to listen. Um, and gosh, the feeling of when someone names and describes. Whatever it is going on in their soul. Um, and when the moment when it, you're like, yes, that's what you just said. Something I've been trying to figure out forever. Wow. That is what my hope is for this time. You know, that, that someone out there and I can say we, that's kind of my hope and talking to people that are safe. At any point, you know, that just

in my head of what mine was and then you two said, and I was like, that's really good. No, that's really good. I think for me when I did the play episode with Ashley, we got to the end of that thing and I was like, Oh, I think this whole episode was for me. I do think I'm in this. For, for me and being with y'all, like, I think I wanted to be with y'all, um, and you're in two different places and I think I wanted to be with y'all. And I think that this idea of how my brain experienced liminal space, how that all came together for me, I was like, I think there's a way to talk about this. That's just what Eileen's talking about, which is like, we're in it together, even when we're in different hallways with the picture I just got in my mind is so weird. But you know, I've never been to prison just so we're clear. I've never been to prison. Um,

I mean, it's, I'm, you know, 47 next month. So who knows? Um, but you know how sometimes they would knock like Morse code to each other to like talk. Um, I think sometimes it feels like, yeah, As a, I have a little person and I work also full time outside the home and I'm far away from a lot of people. There are times when I just want to know like, hey, like I want to pop my head up and be like, hey, are you here too?

then you got to go back to the grind of your daily life.

And so I, I want this for me. I want to be with y'all. And then I want other people who feel similarly to be like, Oh, you still here. Okay.

Um, and if there's some learning of some things, some explanation of some things, some laying out of concepts or ideas in a way that is absorbable for people that allows them just like y'all were saying toward healing. I think that's really beautiful too. In a way that's,

it's, maybe it's just enough to put one foot in front of the other, know, like enough just to take one more step. I remember, back in the day when we're talking about therapy and you're like, I need scaffolding. I need, like, if you're gonna push me off the edge, I need to know that there's a net somewhere or that there's something that's holding me, that there's something that's sustaining me. And I mean, maybe. Maybe listeners are in a place where they just need enough to do one more day.

and I think that, so I identify with that so much as like how we're doing this thing. Like I was like season two, I wasn't like, it's got to start in January. I was like, if it could start in February, great. If it starts in March, fantastic. Do you both want to do it? If we do, what could it look like? Just being like, I'm going to give this thing as an offering.
